Short Bio
Jorge is the youngest president that our Parish Council has had. He is a political science major at MSU and is very committed to his community. At the '22 Youth CONVO at Valparaiso University, Jorge was elected president of the National United Youth Organization. Jorge teaches catechism for those children preparing for First Communion. Feel free to contact him with requests or ideas that concern the parish.
Ana has lived in the Denver area for 23 years and this is her second year as part of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. As our council vice-president, Ana helps organize and also participates in many of our church projects and celebrations. Ana is the mother of three sons who are frequently involved in our parish activities along with their mother.
Short Bio
Duane has been a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi for four years. Before retiring, Duane spent 35 years of his career as an economic analyst working in the telecom industry. He now serves as our Treasurer. These days, he spends a lot of time exploring the history of Colorado, from the gold rush days to the early to the early 1900s.
In September 2020 Mary Ellen came to St. Francis of Assisi from Hampton, Virginia where she assisted the VA Catholic chaplain serving veterans in hospice and the spinal cord injury unit. Earlier in her career she spent 40 years as an educator predominantly in the midwest. Mary Ellen serves as our Liturgy Coordinator and teaches the catechism Confirmation class.
Short Bio.
Ivan has been part of our St. Francis family for two years and serves our church as the council's youth coordinator. He is head of the youth group which is made up of the 13-27-year-olds in the parish. Ivan is also completing classes in automotive collision repair.
Our catechism is run every scholar year for kids, youth and adults. First communion is for kids 7 years and up. Confirmation is for youth 13+. Classes are Saturdays 4pm-6pm followed by Mass.
Every other Saturday, the St. Francis youth meet to plan activities, get closer to god and be instruments of the lord by helping the community and working in collaboration with Christ in the City
Our parish is guided by a voluntary council built of 4 board members and 3 representatives. Every member has a term of 2 years and is selected by the community.
